January Newsletter

Come on winter, show me whatcha got already!

I could say I'm excited about how warm the weather has been, but I'd be lying. Sure, it's nice to not have to bundle up, but this is a little scary, no? And besides, what's winter (in New England, at least) without lots and lots of snow?

I hope you are all having a wonderful 2007 so far. May this year bring you that much closer to everything you hope to achieve, but most of all, may you be happy and healthy. Thank you for your support all of last year, at the shows, in the subway, on tour, online. It was so wonderful to see your lovely face! I'd like to see more of it!

This was a big year for me. I'm still taking baby steps, but there were some really big milestones in the past year: the release of my first cd; performances at The Bitter End, Club Passim, and the Mountain Stage NewSong Festival, among others; my first official tour; having to add a second mailing list because I outgrew the first one, etc. I'm so glad and grateful that you were there to support me and sing along, all the way. Applaud yourself, you good folkie. :)

And welcome, again, to all the new readers out there! I'm so lucky to have you here! I hope to see you again very soon at a show. I will be returning to the subways, perhaps even as early as this week, so keep your eyes and ears open.

The cd, the cd!
One More Autumn
You can buy the cd online!
CDBaby is the place to be. They're super-friendly, ridiculously funny, and lightning-fast!
OR you can pick up a cd from me for $12 at any show this month.
Also, I'm on ITunes! I am Ipod-less, but I know I'm there - I've seen it myself!
It would be FANTASTIC if you'd write a review of the cd on CDBaby or ITunes (pushy enough?).

Shows this month

Hear at the HOMe Living Room Concert Series!
New Haven, CT
Requested donation: $15; All Ages
I will be opening the evening, to be followed by one of my most favorite songwriters, the lovely Trina Hamlin. This is bound to be a spectacular show and you don't want to miss it. Plus, house concerts are insanely fun. Reservations are required:
Please contact or (203) 776-9325.

Tuesday, January 16, 9:00 pm
Sky Bar
518 Somerville Ave, Somerville, MA
Cost: $7; 21+
Singer/Songwriter Night at Sky Bar is so much fun! PLEASE come out for this show, my first local show in a long time. There's no walk-in crowd, so it's really important that we fill up the joint so they have me back. And why not bring 10 of your friends?! Don't forget, cds are $12 this night!

Monday, January 22, 7:00 pm
Club Passim
47 Palmer Street Cambridge, MA
Songwriter Tribute Night: Peter Gabriel! No idea what I'm playing yet but come see your local faves (that's me!) cover Peter Gabriel songs. November's Leonard Cohen tribute was phenomenal! I'm sure this one will give it a run for its money.

Rent Me
House concerts are so much fun. Head out to New Haven on Sunday (or February 9 in Topsfield!) to see what they're all about. You too can host a show in the comfort of your own home. Email me and I'll tell you how you can do just that!

Do you want your very own song? I'm just itching to write a song for your occasion, your boyfriend, your wedding, your child, etc. Let's talk!

And since I've been asked this a lot recently, I should probably mention that I DO sing weddings - classical music, folk, varying world music, etc. I can even help you choose the music, if you'd like.

Don't forget to visit my pages on SonicBids, MySpace, and CDBaby!
You can hear snippets of every song from the new record on the CDBaby site!
Additionally, I often post my new songs to MySpace. If you're itching to hear new material, you're likely to find it there. In fact, there's a new song up there right now! Go listen to "My Tis of Thee!"

Thanks for reading, listening, and supporting my music!
May the winter feel like winter and your heart feel like spring,
